Plus a World Columbian Expo Chicago Manhattan Day 1893 Ticket Stub Detached with stamp on reverse. In the United States there had been a spirited competition for this exposition among the country's leading cities. Chicago was chosen in part because it was a railroad center and in part because it offered a guarantee of $10 million. Plus a 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition ticket, the acronym AYP or AYPE, was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909 publicizing the development of the Pacific Northwest. It was originally planned for 1907 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, but the organizers learned of the Jamestown Exposition being held that same year and rescheduled. The fairgrounds were hosted on an undeveloped portion of the present day campus of the University of Washington. A unique offering of three distinct American Expositions! Estimate $100 - 150.
