Great Britain, 1840-2007, an attractive mainly used collection. Housed in a few superior Stanley Gibbons hingeless albums with slipcases this collection spans from the Penny Black of 1840 to the 21st century and 2007. Hundreds of used and some mint especially in the 20th century issues is present. Many better Queen Victoria issues are here as well as King Edward VII and King George V. We note Seahorses used, commemoratives, some back-of-the-book and more. A number of values are into the many hundreds of pounds each. Condition is mainly Fine to Very Fine. There are a few faults. Great Britain, 1840-1951, a useful collection balance of mint and used, neatly mounted in a Lighthouse hingeless album. Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V show scattered representation (worth noting are the 1d red plating - complete less only plates 77, 29 and 225 - plus some used Seahorses). King George VI is nearly complete both mint and used. And there are a few postage dues and departmentals. Condition is F.-V.F. almost throughout with some mint n.h. Great Britain, 1841-1929, a collector's specialized collection and accumulation of classic used, strong in the various 1d reds (Scott # 3 through 33, including some covers and many plated stamps) but also including later Queen Victoria (2d to 5s) and a smattering of early 20th century issues. Thousands of stamps, neatly arranged and identified on stock pages, rich in cancellation varieties, with numerous items in the $100 to $250 catalog value range. A specialist's delight! Be sure to check the scans on the web - every page and every stamp has been photographed. Scott catalog value is very roughly estimated at approximately $15,000.

Great Britain, 1952-2022, Queen Elizabeth II issues, a magnificent and nearly complete mint collection, neatly mounted on hingeless pages in 6 Lighthouse albums. The degree of completion is extraordinary, missing only the Machin issues (a separate lot in this sale), and the first Castles. Included are numerous Gibbons listed varieties, including watermark inverted and sideways, plus the early Wilding phosphor and phosphor-graphite issues, all the commemoratives and miniature sheets, most postage dues and nearly all regionals. Apparently never hinged throughout, excepting only the D.L.R. 1958 Castles are lightly hinged. A wonderful lot for the serious collector, all the work is done and the degree of completion - and quality - are both phenomenal. Condition is generally Fine to Very Fine or better. A sampling has been imaged. Shipping weight 46 lbs / 21 kilos. SG £9,548 ($12,170).

Great Britain, 1967-2022, Queen Elizabeth II Machin issues, a phenomenal specialist's collection, neatly mounted on hingeless pages in a special Lighthouse album, with spaces for all the innumerable complicated Gibbons listed varieties, including the various phosphor bands, date codes, source codes, self-adhesives, color varieties, miniature sheets, high values, singles from booklets, etc. - they are all here. We note only one space not filled - S.G. x876: 7p purple brown with 1 side band. This wonderful collection is the work of decades chasing after all the difficult to find varieties. A paradise for the Machin collector or dealer. Condition is generally Very Fine. A sampling has been imaged. Shipping weight 6.6 lbs / 3 kilos. SG £4,152 ($5,290).

Great Britain, 1967-1999, Queen Elizabeth II Machin issues, a lovely and extensive specialized collection, housed on quadrille pages, with stamps ranging from the 10½p to 20p, each in a black mount and meticulously identified along with catalog number referencing the Deegam Handbook. As a bonus, a collection of FDC's for the pre-decimal Machins including the "Stamps for Cooks" booklet along with various se-tenant combinations. Great Britain, 1987-2022, Queen Elizabeth II issues, a collection of Royal Mail post office announcements, well illustrated and descriptive, with lots of information about each issue, sent with new issues. Hundreds of them in this collection (no actual stamps), filling several binders in two large boxes. Good reading. Shipping weight 41 lbs / 18.6 kilos. The weight could be reduced if we toss the binders.

Several hundred glassines all Scott numbered are packed into a long red box. Besides Great Britain we note Guernsey, Alderley, Jersey and the Isle of Man are included. Great Britain and Canada, 1859-2001, collections of mint, used and covers, housed in 5 stock books plus a couple of collections on pages, one of which is a 27-page presentation on the postal history of Winchester, Hampshire from 1846-1979 with over 20 covers, and another with mint blocks examining the cylinder numbers on the special issues of QEII. One stockbook is exclusively for Canada with some modern mint as well as classics and a few pages of federal & provincial revenues. Some better Great Britain too, like used #s 94, 95 (2), 96, 102, 108, 120, 122, 137-38, 223 (x 2), 224 (x 3), and mint 121, 251, 268 (x 3) and over 100 used booklet panes from the Wilding series, each identified by watermark and type, generally Fine to Very Fine.
