Mailed to Columbia, PA. Two file folds (common) affect the cover and are mentioned for accuracy, otherwise VF or better strikes of the markings, on original exhibit page, Very Fine. Estimate $150 - 200 This post was established on January 15, 1847 by Aron Swarts, who had been employed at the U.S. Post Office at 6 Chatham Square. The U.S. branch closed and Swarts opened the next day in the same building. He called his service at "Branch Post Office." In early 1849, Swarts acquired the Bouton's City Dispatch Post. In about March 1856 Swarts sold this business to Benjamin Lockwood.
