 /oWorldwide stamps, 1840-1968, a massive collection in 8 Scott International albums, mint and used, neatly hinged on pages, and apparently a third to half complete for the period - tens of thousands of stamps. Nearly all countries are represented to some degree. Early issues are more used than mint, later tend more toward mint or CTO. Full sets, part sets and some mixed mint and used sets, even a few souvenir sheets. No rarities, but plenty of items cataloging up to about $400 each. Mostly clean with only a few faults noted in the earliest issues (which don't catalog much). Main value is probably in 20th century mint. A nice lot for a collector or for a dealer wanting to pull items from it for stock, and an excellent lot for an internet dealer. Condition averages Fine to Very Fine. A small sampling has been imaged. Shipping weight 75 lbs / 34 kilos. Estimate $4,000 - 6,000 Cataloged by the original owner in 1981 where it came to $67,000 Scott. Mainly used or CTO but with important mint sets as well, all hinged on pages. The coverage is impressive and the quality overall is decent. The Russia (in 2 albums, a mix of CTO complete sets and some mint including souvenir sheets, nearly complete for the Soviet period) and the PRC (with some serious sets including Gymnastics and Butterflies and even a couple Cultural Revolution mint sets) each catalog well into the thousands of dollars.
