New York, N.Y., 1846, 5¢ black on bluish, signed "ACM" connected, double transfer in "POST" (Scott 9X1 var.), position 23, ample margins all around, neat blue pen cancels, Very Fine, with 2004 P.F. certificate.

Scott prices several double transfers (all at $525), but does not price this position. Stanley Piller's book on the New York Provisional refers to the double transfer as a printing "shift" resulting in dots in the top label and also in "FIVE CENTS" .
