Lote 990 //o1852-1992, a miscellaneous grouping with some interesting items, including a selection of mostly different on stock cards, from classics to early modern with some back-of-the-book, catalog value $4800+. Noteworthy are some better used including 15¢ 1869 (#119, catalog value $200), 24¢ Bank Note (#153, New York Foreign Mail cancel, $225), 50¢ Trans-Mississippi (#291, $175), 5¢ Error (#505, $600), 30¢ Shanghai (#K13, $230) and 4¢ Shanghai (#K18, $225); also a 30¢ 1861 issue (#71) with a fake all-over grill to resemble #81, and a 1¢ Bluish Paper (#357, NH but reperfed, $190). Plus an accumulation of imperf Parks (#756-765) with quantities from 2 to 51 each, catalog value $560; a block of 66 and a plate block of the 10¢ Riley (#868), catalog value $138; and a selection of all different telegraph stamps, mainly Wells Fargo, catalog value $543. Some faults in the classics but there are many useful stamps here. The centering averages Fine to Very Fine, some better, some worse. A sampling has been imaged. Scott $6,000+. Estimate $600 - 800. |
