Lot 158 Armstrong, Neil, (1930-2012), American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who in 1969 (as mission commander of the Apollo 11 flight) became the first person to walk on the moon. Signed photograph of the astronaut along with a letter stating the reason he "no longer autographs items of philatelic nature"; plus a large folded poster printed in 1973 of the Apollo crew and their history. Armstrong's autograph is the scarcest of all American astronauts' autographs. Estimate $300 - 400. |
