1977-78, US Postmasters America Medallic First Day Covers. Brilliant Proof 69, includes 40 unique Proof coins and first day covers in their original packaging, 38 are sterling silver and two are smaller in diameter and 24kt Gold Electroplate over Sterling so a total of approximately 29 troy ounces of pure silver at $25+ an ounce at the time of describing. First day covers are prized by stamp collectors, and silver medals are prized by coin collectors. This item combines the two. a few imaged on the website to give a flavor of the lot.
